Various components go together to make up one web page. Many are individual files, like pictures, and some are just an integral part of the page, like tables. By using consistent components, a “theme” is developed which is carried throughout the website.

Pagosa Graphics Design, Inc. utilizes design techniques and components to pull the viewer’s eye into your site and to entice them into entering — the critical first step.  Our designs are soothing, appealing and commanding all at the same time.

We also take great pride in our nit-pick for detail and perfecting your website’s design appeal to reflect your personal choices, personality and traits.  We can design whatever you can envision!

Font Styles and Sizes:
For Page Titles, Headers, Subheaders, Links, Body and Captions. The various styles should be complementary to each other. General layout rules call for no more than 2-3 different font sizes throughout the publication, or it becomes too busy and difficult to read — that's when you lose your web viewer.

Page Background:  A color or a picture to create the color and a texture.

Tables and/or Layers: Tables are used to positively position text and components which, otherwise, tend to move around, based on the different browsers used by viewers. Layers build, one on top of the other, with several components stacked up to produce one visual effect.

Everything goes into tables or layers, and tables and layers go inside of other tables and layers to create the desired effect and position.

Logo: An image and/or words that visually tell the web surfer about you, your product or service. When viewed over and over, it produces an intellectual connection to you and your company.

Slogan: Text version of a logo. It can also support and enhance the logo in one catchy phrase.

Page Banners: Positioned at the top and bottom or sides of every page, containing important information for the viewer. The consistent placement ensures the viewer can always find this important info.

Top Page Banner: Logo, slogan, contact info, customer login, page links.

Bottom Page Banner: Page links, copyright text, symbol, year and name. Slogan, contact info, and webmaster’s credit. The search engines use robots that crawl through websites, looking for info to include in their search results. They generally read the bottom of the home page, and so it’s a good place to put key words, phrases, your name, or other important search-related info.

Navigational Structure: The links that move viewers through your site. Consistent, operational links are an absolute necessity for any successful website. They can be on the sides, top and bottom.

Graphics for Links (if desired): Buttons, bars, backgrounds.

Graphics as Spacers/Dividers: Horizontal and vertical lines, bullet points, checkmarks, boxes, backgrounds, Flash movies, scrolling banners, animated pictures. One properly built graphic can generate the same message as pages and pages of text.

Personal Pictures: You, your facility, staff, products, anything to personalize the site, so the viewer can connect to you. If you don’t want your picture online, choose commercial pictures which represent you.
